Prague is a city that means a great deal to us as a couple. Choosing to celebrate our wedding here feels really special to us, and we hope that during the weekend our friends and family might also have the chance to explore and experience a place that holds so many lovely memories for us.
For anyone who has time to wander, we’ve shared a few of our favourite spots below, along with some local dishes and treats to try - a few of which Jess is particularly passionate about!
our Prague recommendations
Places to visit
Some of our favourite places to wander and explore:
Karlův Most (Charles Bridge) - One of the most iconic spots in Prague and especially beautiful early in the morning or at sunset.
Valdštejnská zahrada (Waldstein Garden) - A lovely baroque garden that is free to enter.
Lobkowicz Palace (Prague Castle & St. Vitus Cathedral) - The views over the city from here are amazing.
Staromestske namesti & Orloj (Old Town Square & the Astronomical Clock) - The historic heart of the city.
Petřín Hill & Lookout Tower - A peaceful walk with one of the best views in Prague.
Narodni Divadlo (National Theatre) - A beautiful place to watch the opera and ballet.
Letná Park & Hanau Pavillion - If the weather is nice, this is a great place to relax and enjoy a drink overlooking the city.
where to eat/drink
-
Onesip - Our favourite coffee spot that we visit without fail whenever we’re in Prague. It’s perfect for a coffee on the go. There are a few seats inside, but it’s definitely a bit of a squeeze!
Prokop - Another great option - again, perfect for a super quick coffee.
(A)void - The coolest cafe, located on the river!
Elias - A good coffee spot with seating.
-
Etapa - A great veggie and vegan friendly brunch spot!
Tvoje Mama - If you fancy a delicious Czech pastry, this is the place to go!
Venue - There are three locations, all great. We would recommend ordering the buns with vanilla cream.
Bockem - If you’re feeling fancy (and hungry), we would suggest coming here. It is the most incredible 3 course breakfast you’ll ever have.
-
U Kalendu - One of our favourite spots. The fresh bread is delicious! A twist on traditional Czech food.
Špejle - Perfect for a lunch or light dinner, Czech style tapas.
Chutnej - A delicious vegan spot!
Velkopřevorský Mlýn - A hidden gem next to Charles Bridge, serving traditional Czech food.
-
Pivovar U Supa- Known as the oldest brewery in Prague, this is a great spot if you’re right in the city centre. Also offers a beer tasting flight.
Kozlovna - A great option known for serving ‘Kozel’ beer on draft - Jess’s family favourite!
